Waynesboro 3, Staunton 1
WAYNESBORO – Waynesboro defeated the Staunton Storm 3-1 on Thursday in Shenandoah District volleyball play. The Little Giants won 25-21, 25-14, 21-25, 25-16.
Waynesboro’s Morgan Sites just missed a triple-double with 21 digs, 14 kills and nine assists. Ava Buckmaster and Morgan Harlow had also had double-doubles with Harlow posting 18 assists and 12 digs while Buckmaster finished with 10 kills and 12 digs. Jordan Smith contributed a team-high 15 kills while also adding three blocks. Aaliyah Digs added a team-best 26 digs and five assists and teammate Karley Hill recorded eight digs.
Wilson 3, Riverheads 0
GREENVILLE – Wilson Memorial swept Riverheads in three sets Thursday night in Shenandoah District volleyball action.
Estee Irving posted a double-double with a team-high 14 kills to go along with 12 digs. Irving also had four aces. Maggie Parrott and Harper Tibbs each finished with seven kills. Bree Kindig served three aces and led the team in digs with 26. Natalee Chandler and Maddie Lawhorn shared setting duties with Chandler dishing out 17 assists While Lawhorn had 14 assists.
