The Staunton High School Athletic Booster Club is hosting the 15th Annual Booker T Washington/ Staunton/ Robert E Lee High School Hall of Fame Ceremony on Friday, August 29th at the Staunton High School Cafeteria beginnings at 4:30pm.
The 2025 Class features Hosea Berkley , Kyle Stenzel, Jayden Williams, Jonathan Crawford, Chris Williams, Darius George
Hosea Berkley is a graduate of Lee High School, Class of 2006. Hosea is best known for being a member of the best basketball streak in school and state history. From 2003-2005 the Leemen won 85 games in a row. Hosea was a starter and big contributor to their success as a high-flying scorer and rebounder. He lettered three years in basketball making All District, All Region, and All State. During that span the team won two State Championships and one State runner-up trophy. Hosea also lettered three years in Football. His junior year he rushed for over 1,000 yards. His senior year he helped lead the team to postseason berth in the state playoffs playing linebacker and running back. Hosea was arguably one of the best athletes in school history with a 40-inch vertical jump and a standing broad jump of more than 10 feet.
Kyle Stenzel is a graduate of Lee High School, Class of 2019. Kyle is arguably the best soccer player in school history. From the start of his career as a freshman until he graduated he was the MVP of his team every year. He was selected first-team All-District and first-team All-Region all four years he played. He was selected first team All-State in grades 10-12. Kyle was also the District and Region Player of the Year in grades 10-12. After his senior year he was selected the 2A State Player of the Year. As a team, Lee won the District Championship all four years and advanced to the State Tournament all four years winning the State Championship his senior season. Kyle finished his career as the leading scorer in school history. Following graduation, Kyle accepted a scholarship to Virginia Tech to play soccer. He was there three years and then transferred to Christopher Newport University for a year where he played and graduated. Kyle finished his career at University of Massachusetts as a graduate student where he led the team to the NCAA Tournament, advancing to the Elite 8.
Jayden Williams is a graduate of Lee High School, Class of 2018. Jayden was a three-year letter winner in basketball. He was All-District and All-Region his junior and senior years. The team won District Championships during his junior and senior seasons and also won Region Championships those years as well. Jayden Played on three teams that made it to the Region Semifinals. Lee won a State Championship his junior year and then lost in the state final during his senior year. Jayden also played football and lettered all three years as well. He led the team to State Playoffs all three years including the State Championship game his senior year. He was selected All-District as a junior and senior, Jayden was All- Region and All-State first team as a senior. He was named District, Region, and State Player of the year as a senior year. Jayden set records for Passing touchdowns in a season with 21, passing yards in a season with 2,425 yards, career passing yards with 3,536, and career passing TDs with 37. Following graduation, Jayden attended U.Va. and graduated with a BS in Nursing. He currently lives in the DC area.
Jonathan Crawford is a graduate of Lee High School, Class of 2004. He earned 11 varsity letters and was a five-sport letterman. He played basketball in 2001 and 2002. In 2002 and 2003 he was undefeated in tennis singles/doubles during the regular season. In 2003 he ran indoor track and was All-District and All-Region in the 200 meters and the 4x200m relay. Jonathan played soccer in 2004 and was an al- district and all-region player. He played football and in 2002 he was an all-district wide receiver. In 2003 he was an all-district and all-region at wide receiver and defensive back. When he graduated, Jonathan held the school record for receiving yards in a season and ended his career with more than 1,200 yards and 10 touchdowns. After graduation, Jonathan went on to earn a full athletic scholarship to play football at Liberty University where he was an all-conference performer and helped lead them to their first two conference championships.
Chirs Williams is a graduate of Lee High School, Class of 2010. Chris lettered 13 times during his high school career. He lettered all three years he played bBasketball. His teams won District Championships his junior and senior years. Chris also ran indoor track at the same time he was playing basketball and lettered all three years. His team won indoor track District Championships all three years. Chris won the 300 meters at the District and Region level all three years and won the State Championship his senior year. He also won the District and Region 500 meters his senior year. He set the school record for the 500 meters in 2010 1:08.57 – a record that still stands. Chris also lettered three years in football and played on three straight District Championship teams. He was an All-District and All-Region pick his senior year. Chris was a four-year letter winner in outdoor track. He was District and Region Champion in the 200 meter run all four years, he was District and Region Champion three years in the 200 and 400 meters and was State Champion his junior year in the 400 meters. He set the 400 meter school record of 48.95 in 2009 which is still a school record. After graduation Chris attended Benedict University in South Carolina on a track scholarship.
Darius George is a graduate of Lee High School, Class of 2017. Darius was a four-year letter winner in basketball, starting all four years on the varsity. He was first-team All-District all four years of high school and led the team in scoring all four years. He finished his career with 1,866 points, third all-time at Staunton behind current Hall of Famers Kevin Madden and Tyler Crawford. His senior year he led the Leemen to the 2A State Championship. Along the way he was named District, Region, and State Player of the Year. He finished his career as one of the best to ever play at Staunton. After graduation Darius signed a full scholarship to play at Marshall University where he went on to a very good career, breaking records and enjoying much success.
