Milesplit Virginia recently released its All-State Track & Field teams. The Top 25 performances in each event, regardless of class (Class 1 – Class 6) received first-team all-state recognition. Results 26-50 were second team and results 50-75 were third team.
Several local athletes made the first team.
Among the boys, Stuarts Draft’s Landon Graber was #24 in the shot put with a throw of 54-8.
Staunton’s Thomas Chisley was #12 in the triple jump at 46-5.
Two pole vaulters earned first-team. Waynesboro’s Trent Snyder ranked eighth, clearing 15 feet and Fort Defiance’s Jeffrey McLaughlin ranked #24 with a height of 14-1.
For the girls, Fort’s Taylor Cubbage cleared 5-5 in the high jump to rank in a tie for sixth.
Stuarts Draft’s Anna Callo tied for 13th in the pole vault at 11 feet and Waynesboro’s Skylar Sloat tied for 20th at 10-6.
