Fort Defiance has announced the hiring of Kelsey Watson as the Indians next head girls’ soccer coach.
Coach Watson is returning to the pitch after taking a short break from coaching to be with her family.
Coach Watson previously coached at Harrisonburg High School where her team secured
the Valley District title in 2020.
Coach Watson graduated from Eastern Mennonite University after earning her B.S. in Health and Physical Education with minors in Spanish and Coaching. Coach Watson also played soccer for the Royals.
Coach Watson has over 10 years of coaching experience at the high school level. She helped develop players of all skills throughout her experiences in Africa, Fairfax, and Harrisonburg. Coach Watson also served as a physical education teacher at Fort Defiance and Springfield.
She will be joined on her staff by her sister, Jacquelyn Zook, who previously coached at Blue Ridge Christian during their run to the VACA Championship.
Coach Watson is fortunate to be supported by her husband Jared and their two children.
