TAPPAHANNOCK – Riverheads senior Tucker Harlow turned in a Top 10 performance on Monday at the VHSL Class 1 State Golf Tournament played at the Hobbs Hole Golf Course.
Teeing off in the first group of the day at 8 a.m., Harlow posted a 7-over par 78 to tie for seventh place and earn all-state honors. The top eight places earned all-state honors.
Harlow parred his first five holes before carding three consecutive bogeys. He added a par in par-5 ninth hole to make the turn at 38.
After another bogey on No. 10, Harlow posted his only birdie of the day on the par-5, No. 11 hole. Harlow played the final four holes in 4-over par to finish with a 78,
Harlow finished in a tie for seventh with Fort Chiswell’s Owen Jackson, Auburn’s Liam Smith and Holston’s Brody Thomas.
Auburn’s Matthew Altizer finished at 2-under par 69 to claim the individual title.
Altizer’s round led Auburn to the team title with a score of 301, 17-over par.
