Frizzelle Named Region 2B Volleyball Player of the Year

Fort Defiance junior standout Maecy Frizzelle has been named the Region 2B Volleyball Player of the Year.

Frizzelle, the Shenandoah District Player of the Year, helped lead the Indians to the district title with an undefeated record in district play. Fort is 24-2 on the season and will play Saturday in the Class 2 state quarterfinals.

Joining Frizzelle on the Region 2B first team are Indians’ teammates Caroline Hanger and libero Norah Anderson.

Named to the second team from Fort were Ella Shreckhise and Savannah Crookshanks.

Also named to the all-region second team were Stuarts Draft’s Tasia Wells along with Riverheads teammates Kylee Swats and Ella Arehart.

The Region 2B Coach of the Year was Clarke County’s Skylar Layton
