Fort Grad Inducted Into Bridgewater College Hall of Fame

BRIDGEWATER – Fort Defiance graduate Cary Chenoweth Braun was inducted into the Bridgewater College Athletic Hall of Fame this past weekend.

Braun was an accomplished equestrian while at Bridgewater, joining the riding program in its inaugural season in 2000. She qualified for the IHSA National show in her first season and placed third in her class, a sign of things to come.

Braun qualified for the national show again in 2002 and 2003. In 2003, she became the first national champion in the program’s young history, winning intermediate over fences at the IHSA national show.

In 2003, Braun was the region champion in the Cacchione Cup and competed for the Cup at the national show against the best riders of the nation. She finished third in the competition.

Braun earned All-ODAC honors three times.
