Roanoke freshman golfer Chase Snyder (Wilson) recorded a Top 10 finish at the Battle at Bulle Rock in Havre de Grace, Md. Snyder carded an 81 in the first round but bounced back with an even-par 72 in Round 2 to finish eighth overall out of 68 golfers. Snyder had two birdies and an eagle on the back nine during his second round. Snyder’s 72 tied for the second-lowest score during Round 2 play. Roanoke placed fourth out of 13 teams.
Bridgewater linebacker Aaron Nice (Stuarts Draft) had a team-high six tackles, including a QB sack and two tackles for loss in the Eagles 73-13 win over Gallaudet.
Bridgewater linebacker Ryan Mundie (Wilson) had three tackles, including two for loss plus a fumble recovery in the win over Gallaudet.
Bridgewater kicker Augustin Miguel (Staunton) made all seven of his extra-point kicks in Saturday’s win over Gallaudet. Five if Miguel’s 12 kickoffs resulted in touchbacks.
Shenandoah wide receiver Caleb Weston (Riverheads) caught two passes for 36 yards in the Hornets’ 33-20 win over Roanoke.
Roanoke kicker Ethan Cyr (Stuarts Draft) was 2-for-2 on PATs and made both of his field goal attempts from 23 and 24 yards Saturday in the loss to Shenandoah.
Averett wide receiver Kayden Jackson (Staunton) caught two passes for 16 yards in Saturday’s loss to Hampden-Sydney.
Emory & Henry linebacker Kasey Branch (Stuarts Draft) had 14 tackles in a 27-20 loss to Wingate.
Apprentice School’s Bradley Hebb (Fort Defiance) caught four passes for 40 yards and returned one kick for 18 yards in a 52-21 win over Keystone College.
Southern Virginia libero Gracie Fulton (Riverheads) had a productive week on the court. She had 28 digs in a five-set loss to Bridgewater. Fulton added 14 digs in a 3-0 win over N.C. Wesleyan and 12 digs in a 3-0 win over Brevard.
18 was the number of the week for Averett setter Dayton Moore (Riverheads). Moore had 18 assists in a five-set ODAC loss to Shenandoah. She added 18 assists in a 3-1 ODAC win over Eastern Mennonite.
Roanoke freshman Parker Blosser (Roanoke) placed 44th out 239 runners Saturday at the South Region Showdown hosted by Roanoke at Green Hill Park in Salem. Blosser ran the 8K event in 26:31.8. He finished third among the Roanoke runners.
William & Mary’s Abby Lane (Fort Defiance) scored for the Tribe at the Princeton Cross Country Fall Classic on Saturday. Lane was the fifth W&M runner to finish and placed No. 129 out of 270 runners with a time of 21:50.3 on the 6K course.
