Grace Christian School’s Georgia Babish was the individual winner in the Knights Crossing Black Division race Saturday at Green Hill Park in Salem.
Babish led a field of 200 runners across the finish line with a time of 19:52.7, the only runner in the field to break the 20-minute mark.
The Grace girls finished 11th out of 23 teams in the race. The Warriors had two more runners finishing inside the Top 75 with Holly Kahn 38th with a time of 23:26.7 and Emily Murdock in 70th place with a time of 24:56.5
The Grace boys also had a strong showing, placing 12th out of 27 schools.
Three Warriors crossed the line inside the Top 50, led by Jed Derrick with a time of 17:35.8 in 21st place. Canon Reid finished 29th with a time of 18:01.8 and Isaac Ranck placed 42nd, crossing the line with a time of 18:28.8.
Volleyball Wins In Four Sets
Grace Christian defeated Redeemer Classical in four sets on Friday, winning 25-17, 23-25. 25-10. 25-17.
The Warriors utilized a balanced hitting attack led by Sara Young with six kills. Amelia Rylak and Margaret Shomo finished with five kills each.
The Warriors served 22 aces led by Finley Bussiere and Katherine Smith with five apiece. Jessie Greenmun, Shomo and Addie Fitzgerald each served four aces.
Greenmun led the team with 11 assists and Fitzgerald added a team-high two solo blocks.
The Warriors ae now 3-2 on the season.
