Altavista Stuns Riverheads With Second-Half Comeback

ALTAVISTA – Riverheads squandered a 19-0 halftime lead Friday and lost at Altavista 29-25 in a game featuring two teams expecting to vie for the Region 1B title.

Jackson Fitzgerald rushed 23 times for 85 yards and Skylar Shiflett added 77 yards and a TD on 18 carries for the Gladiators. Quarterback Kendal Edwards carried 10 times for 52 yards and a touchdown while fullback Preston McCauley added two touchdowns.

Jontez Lee scored two touchdowns and added a two-point conversion for Altavista.
