Apprentice School freshman Bradley Hebb (Fort Defiance) caught four passes for 75 yards, including a 17-yard TD reception in the third quarter. It was Hebb’s second TD reception of the season.
Dylan Colander (Waynesboro) placed sixth overall for UVA-Wise at the Royals Challenge in Charlotte, N.C. There were 173 runners in the 8K race.
Kasey Branch (Stuarts Draft) had five tackles in Emory & Henry’s 42-23 victory at Mars Hill. The win keeps E&H in first place in the South Atlantic Conference.
Roanoke freshman kicker Ethan Cyr (Stuarts Draft) made all three of his extra points and added a 26-yard field goal in Saturday’s 24-14 win at Bridgewater.
Bridgewater linebacker Aaron Nice (Stuarts Draft) had 10 tackles, including a QB sack in Saturday’s loss to Roanoke. Nice ranks inside the Top 25 in Division III national stats in QB sacks, tackles for loss and forced fumbles.
Shenandoah wide receiver Caleb Weston (Riverheads) caught two passes for 33 yards in a 45-7 win over Guilford. Weston ranks sixth in the ODAC, averaging 52 receiving yards per game.
Washington and Lee freshman Marc Geffrard (Staunton) gained 19 yards on four carries in the Generals win over Gallaudet.
Averett wide receiver Kayden Jackson (Staunton) caught six passes for 64 yards in a loss to nationally-ranked Randolph-Macon. Jackson ranks fourth in the ODAC with 22 receptions and eighth in the conference in receiving yards per game with 51.4.
Randolph’s Keghan Marion (Waynesboro) had one assist in the WildCats 2-0 ODAC soccer win over Averett.
Averett setter Dayton Moore (Riverheads) had two solid efforts as the Cougars snapped a seven-game losing streak with two wins this past week. Moore had 17 assists and 12 digs in Averett’s win over Hollins, the first ODAC win of the season for the Cougars. On Saturday Moore and her fellow seniors celebrated Senior Day with a 3-0 victory over Warren Wilson. Moore had 12 digs and seven assists in the win.
Gracie Fulton (Riverheads) had two strong games, both tough conference setbacks for Southern Viginia. Fulton had 22 digs in a 3-1 loss to Greensboro, the first-place team in the conference. She added 26 digs in a 3-1 loss at Methodist. Fulton ranks second in the USA South Athletic Conference, averaging 5.09 digs per set.
