Local Teams Vying For Seeding in Upcoming Postseason Region Tournaments

With the local hoops seasons winding down, teams are vying for seeding in the postseason region tournaments. Below is an update on where the local squads currently sit in the regional rankings.
Region 1B
The Buffalo Gap girls have a stranglehold on the No. 1 spot in the regional rankings and should be the No. 1 seed for the regional tournament. The Bison are 12-3 on the season.
Girls 1B Top 8

The Buffalo Gap boys, 4-9, are holding on to the No. 7 seed in the rankings. The top eight teams qualify for the 1B tournament.

Region 2B
Two girls team are vying for spots in the Region 2B rankings. Stuarts Draft, 14-4, has a firm hold on the No. 2 spot while Riverheads, 7-8, holds the No. 7 slot in the ranking. If those seeds remain the same for the rest of the season, the two county schools would meet in the first round of the 2B tournament. The top eight teams in the region qualify for tournament play.

Three boys teams are in position to make the Region 2B tournament. The top eight teams make the field. Stuarts Draft and Fort Defiance are on a collision course to meet in the first round of the regional tournament. Stuarts Draft, 12-6, and Fort Defiance, 10-7 are currently the No. 4 and No. 5 seed respectively. Riverheads, 9-9, is holding on to the eight and final regional berth.

Region 3C
Wilson, 14-3, and Staunton, 7-10, are battling for seeding in the Region 3C girls tournament. The Hornets have a slim edge for the all-important No. 4 slot in the rankings. The top four teams receive first round byes, Staunton is fighting for a spot in the 12-team field and currently checks in at No. 11.
