Grace Overwhelms Ridgeview; Warriors No. 10 in VISAA Poll

STUARTS DRAFT – Grace Christian School scored seven runs in the top of the first inning Monday afternoon at the Diamond Club and pulled away for a 19-4 victory over the Ridgeview Christian School Crusaders.

Ethan Wright led off the contest with a long homer to left, giving Grace a quick 1-0 lead. Abe Hochstetler added a two-run single to cap the inning with the Warriors leading 7-0.

Ridgeview answered in the bottom of the first with a run-scoring double by Noah Brown. Brown stole third base and scored when the catcher’s throw sailed into the outfield as Ridgeview pulled to within 7-2.

The Warriors responded in the top of the second when Lucas Moody drove in two runs with a single to left, making the score 9-2.

The Warriors put the game away with a seven-run outburst in the third to lead 16-2.

Ethan Wright was 3-for-4 with a homer, triple and three RBIs to lead the Warriors offense. Chase Adams added two hits for the Warriors. 

Landon Wright went four innings on the mound to get the victory. He allowed four runs, just two earned, on two base hits. He struck out seven and walked four. Ethan Wright finished by striking out the side in the fifth.

Brown had both hits for Ridgeview – a double and a triple – and drove in a pair of runs.
