Gap's Alger, Desper Claim Top District Softball Honors

Buffalo Gap swept the top awards on the 2024 Shenandoah All-District Softball Team with pitcher Caroline Alger earning Player of the Year honors and Holly Desper taking the Coach of the Year Award.
Gap playing five players on the first team. Joining Alger were senior catcher Bailey Talley, freshman first baseman Elissa Caricofe, and outfielders Karah Richie and Hannah Coffman.
Stuarts Draft placed three players on the first unit – second baseman Lillian Kreig, third baseman Maddie Miller and DP/flex player Addison Dameron.
Riverheads had two first-team picks with Maggie Robertson at shortstop along with pitcher Cheyenna Bottenfield.
Waynesboro and Wilson each had one first team pick. Pitcher Jakiah Tucker represented Waynesboro with outfielder Gabby Shaver earning a sport for Wilson.
