Gap Falls To Eastside In State Semifinals

SALEM – Buffalo Gap’s stellar softball season came to and end in the Class 1 semifinals on Friday as the Bison fell to Eastside 4-0.
Gap ran into a stellar pitcher as Eastside’s Braelyn Hall hurled a perfect game. Hall struck out 15 batters.
Eastside scored all its runs in the second inning. Maddie Compton’s single scored two runs and Lexi Bond added a run-scoring base hit.
Gap sophomore Rachel Showalter wend the distance in the circle and allowed three earned runs on seven hits.
The Bison finished the season with a 14-7 record and the Region 1B Championship. Friday marked the fifth straight season the program has advanced to the state semifinals.
Expect the Bison to be a force again in 2026. The varsity returned seven starters and Gap’s junior varsity program finished with a perfect 20-0 record.
