Fort Defiance set to Play in Rock The Ribbon Roundball Shootout

The Fort Defiance boys basketball team will once again be playing in the Rock The Ribbon Roundball Shootout on Jan. 25 at Rockbridge High School.
The Indians will meet Roanoke Catholic in the final game of the Shootout on Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m.
The tournament will feature plenty of Division I talent with Oak Hill Academy, Huntington Expression Prep, Mount Zion Prep and Blue Ridge School participating.
Oak Hill features eight Division I caliber recruits in including 4-star seniors Courtland Muldrew, a shooting guard committed to Washington, and uncommitted 6-8 center Deondrea Lindsey. Sophomore 4-star small forward Howard Williams is one of the top players in his class.
Huntington Prep features West Virginia signee Braydon Hawthorne along with Kam Mercer, one of the top freshman players in the nation.
Junior Kosi Mgbeijofor, a 6-10 3-star junior center, is the featured player for Blue Ridge.
Mt. Zion Prep boasts three Division I signees – Chris Jeffrey, a 4-star guard signed with Maryland, center Emmanuel Konga, a George Mason signee and small forward Bobby Montgomery who has signed with UTEP. Favour Ibe, a 7-foot junior center, is a Top 100 player in his recruiting class.
This is the 11th year for the Shootout that raises awareness and funds for the American Cancer Society.
